DUAG President Professor Olga Garaschuk speaks at the third Polish-German Science Meeting in Berlin

Bringing together 17 research institutions and funding organisations from Germany and Poland, the third Polish-German Science Meeting in Berlin (27-28 October 2022) was organised by DFG and its two Polish partner organisations, the Foundation for Polish Science (FNP) and the National Science Centre (NCN). All three institutions stressed the crucial importance of bilateral cooperation, especially in the face of the climate crisis, the coronavirus pandemic and the war against Ukraine.

The event’s highlight was the panel discussion “Scientific Inputs and Panel Discussion on Current Crises and their Effects on Science and Research“, which was moderated by DFG President Katja Becker. Speakers included:

  • Lena Partzsch, Otto Suhr Institute of Political Science, Freie Universität Berlin
  • Stephan Ludwig, Institute of Molecular Virology, University of Munster
  • Olga Garaschuk, University of Tübingen, President of the GermanUkrainian Academic Society
