  • Università di Bologna: offers a range of opportunities for Ukrainian PhD students, post-docs, researchers and professors, refugees in Ukraine or holders of a permanent residence permit in Ukraine
  • Florence: Fellowships at the Institute for Art History in Florence – Max-Planck-Institut for art historians and heritage scholars
  • Free University of Bozen-Bolzano: Ukrainian students will be allowed to enroll in single courses. They will be exempted from tuition fees, receive a monthly financial support during the 2nd semester of the current academic year, can eat in the university canteen, enroll in the special course offerings of the Language Centre and use the provincial mobility services free of charge. In addition, the Provincial office of Education Support is making an effort to find free accommodation for them. Ukrainian refugee PhD students can be accepted as Visiting PhDs to the PhD programmes of unibz and complete a research stay at unibz, provided that their research area corresponds to the research area of one of the unibz programmes. Ukrainian refugee professors can be assigned as visiting professors (or research assistants AR)
  • The Institute for Educational Technology of the National Research Council of Italy is granting a study bursary for graduates, to conduct research in the scientific of
    Information and Communication Technology – ICT, concerning the “Development of software tools for the study of social dynamics on the Web and their analysis by using data science techniques”. The deadline is on June 22nd
  • University of Macerata: “UniMC for Ukraine” scholarships program is aimed to support Ukrainian students who intend to start their studies at the University of Macerata. The scholarships are reserved to students of Ukrainian nationality, resident in the war zones who intend to enroll in a bachelor’s degree (three-year) or a master’s degree (two-year) programme of the University in the a.y. 2021/2022.
    Each scholarship amounts to Euro 8,500. The deadline to apply is 29.04.2022

      • Set up 20 scholarships worth 6 thousand euros each for Ukrainian students. Moreover, we are encouraging them to apply for grants awarded by the Intesa SanPaolo Foundation
      • Granted financially challenged Ukrainian students a temporary waiver of tuition and accommodation fees;
      • Allocated free places in University halls of residence to both our existing Ukrainian students and those from Ukrainian universities;
      • Created 4 visiting-scholar-at-risk positions for Ukrainian scholars.

  • Neuromed offers to host Ukrainian researchers in the neuroscience field, but also other fields, and offer them to cover the travel, accommodation and research costs to allow them to continue their work away from the war
  • The University of Pisa offers financial support through flat rate study grants for students and visiting fellows: Visiting Fellow 2022-2023 at UNIPI for Ukrainian scholars, for a period between 1 and 12 months, apply by 30 April.   • The University of Tuscia (UNITUS) promotes supporting initiatives for students, teaching and technical-administrative staff from Ukraine by activating the following measures: (a) 20 scholarships of the duration of 6 months, for a total amount of € 4000 each (€ 666,67/month), destined to students enrolling in a UNITUS program, either taught in English or in Italian; (b) 4 contributions of the duration of 6 months, for a total amount of € 6000 each (€ 1000/month) for Ukrainian researchers, professors, lecturers, teachers, and technical-administrative staff. The University of Tuscia is making an effort to raise more funds to increase the number of contributions and scholarships. In addition, the University is committed to provide Erasmus+ grants to: 22 students on Erasmus+ ICM mobility for 3 months each, extendable until funds are available; 20 teaching and administrative staff in Erasmus+ ICM mobility for at maximum 2 months each. Erasmus+ mobility grant will be provided to students, researchers, professors, lecturers, teachers, and technical-administrative staff from the following Ukrainian universities with which UNITUS has active cooperation agreements:
