2 June: Webinar of the German-Ukrainian Historians’ Commission “The German War of Aggression in Ukraine: Victims and Perpetrators”

The event will commemorate the German invasion of the Soviet Union on 22 June 1941, with a special focus on events in Ukrainian territories at that time.

Date: 2 June, Wednesday

Time: 4-8pm CET

Program

The webinar will be held in English and Ukrainian with simultaneous translation.

The German war of aggression against the Soviet Union is often – intentionally or thoughtlessly – reduced in German memory to a war against Russia. In fact, the western territories of the Soviet Union, including Belarus and Ukraine, were among the first victims of the German attack on 22 June 1941. It was here that the relatively highest number of victims were mourned.
