The EU-funded SECURE2 project, with a total budget of over EUR 2 million, pilots and implements the European Framework for Research Careers (RCF) recommendations to improve career progression within research organisations. Building on its predecessor SECURE, SECURE2 extends over four years (June 2025-May 2029) allowing deeper, more impactful institutional changes.The overall aim is to create more transparent, flexible, and supportive research careers for the future.
The project guides research-performing and funding organisations through tailored action plans using proven tools to foster better ecosystems for research roles. By engaging researchers, managers, and policymakers, SECURE2 will ensure that reforms meet practical needs across academic and non-academic sectors.
The project is coordinated by the INSTITUTO SUPERIOR TECNICO (Portugal), and is implemented together with 17 partners from 14 countries.
