In their view, innovation and value creation are based on education and cutting-edge research. Therefore, the new Federal Government must, on the one hand, guarantee reliable funding and safeguard institutional autonomy and academic freedom and, on the other, quickly adapt the framework conditions for research to the challenges of global competition. This is the only way to gain groundbreaking insights, achieve technological breakthroughs and develop innovative solutions for societal, economic and social progress.
