The Global MIT At-Risk Fellows Program (GMAF) is a semester-long, residential fellowship at MIT to be held in spring 2025 (February-May).
- Applicants should be scholars who hold a PhD (or equivalent degree).
- They should also be either currently or recently teaching at Ukrainian universities or conducting research with the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
- Individuals who held positions at these institutions at the time of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, including those who are temporarily residing and/or working in other countries at the moment, are eligible to apply.
The GMAF is part of the MIT International Science and Technology Initiatives (MISTI).
The MIT-Ukraine Program supports different initiatives:
- Internships: In-person and virtual internships engaging MIT students with Ukrainian ventures, NGOs, government, and universities
- Applied Work: Faculty-led student projects on critical infrastructure, economic development, health, housing, and logistics
- Scientific Collaboration: Professional connections and collaborative research among MIT researchers and educators and Ukrainian peers
- United Voice: A hub for Ukraine-focused initiatives on the MIT campus: student groups, language and culture, awareness of current events
