In the Science I Business article Horizon Europe: 2023 winners and losers revealed | Science|Business (sciencebusiness.net) of how the funds of the EU’s €95 billion Horizon Europe research and innovation programme were distributed among different countries, it has been stated:
“…Ukraine, despite Russia’s invasion and occupation the previous year, managed to double its share of Horizon Europe money in 2023, albeit from a very low base. It won €20.3 million in 2023, up from €13 million the previous year“.
With the launch of the Horizon Europe Office in Kyiv and two more initiatives for Ukrainian researchers and innovators at the end of 2023 there are good perspectives for this positive trend to continue.
