After almost three years in the making, Michael Martin Richter (Research Centre for East European Studies at the University of Bremen, Germany / Bremen International Graduate School of Social Sciences, Germany and fellow at the Harvard University’s Davis Center) completed his doctoral dissertation titled “Power, Politics, and Anti-Corruption Reforms in Ukraine: The Role of Western Actors”. His dissertation is a call for action for a more ambitious strategy between Ukraine and its Western allies, not least in the domain of anticorruption reforms that form its core.
In the acknowledgement section of his dissertation Michael stated:
“Finally, my sincere gratitude and appreciation goes to the Ukrainian nation. You showed the world what it means to not give up and defy the odds. You are my heroes and my inspiration. Let us build your country back better. You deserve it like no one else.”
