The Zelensky Effect. By Olga Onuch, Senior Lecturer in Politics at the University of Manchester. With Henry Hale, Professor of Political Science and International Affairs at George Washington University. Moderated by Emily Channell-Justice, Director, Temerty Contemporary Ukraine Program. The book, The Zelensky Effect explains the apparent paradox, explores Ukraine’s national history to show how its now-iconic president reflects the hopes and frustrations of the country’s first ‘independence generation’. This year, attendees can participate in a variety of activities, including playing the drums to enhance brain plasticity, predicting the eruption of a seemingly inactive volcano, virtually conducting micro-surgical procedures on the human eye using robotics, and examining how Raman spectroscopy can detect bone diseases as well as signs of life on Mars.
