The Ukrainian Academic Accelerator (UAA) 2022 is a new edition of the UAA pilot project run in 2021 with the focus on Journalism, Media, and Communication, which was organized and conducted by the DUAG associate members Kostiantyn Yanchenko and Alona Shestopalova, both PhD students at the University of Hamburg. The German-Ukrainian Academic Society has been supporting this initiative through its mini-grant scheme.
The 2022 call is aimed at junior researchers (final year Master’s students, as well as PhD students, based in Ukraine) in fields of journalism, media and communications.
The main activities will take place as interactive online sessions (every two weeks), bringing together Ukrainian junior researchers with the aim of reflecting on their thesis writing, advancing their academic qualifications and methodological knowledge through knowledge transfer, networking and exchange ideas. Participants will have an opportunity to present their research projects in a contest at the end of the project. UAA relied on peer-mentoring as the main teaching method but will also attract external international speakers who will offer lectures/seminars on topics of theoretical and methodological interest.
