In March 2018 the First Ukrainian Forum of International Education took place in Kyiv. Speaking at this event, Minister Liliia Grynevych presented recent numbers of international students studying at Ukrainian universities and institutions of higher education.
In 2017 India became the leading country, from which students come to study to Ukraine. About 30% of students come from post-Soviet countries. “Only over the past two years, the number of Ukrainian higher education institutions where foreign students are studying has increased from 185 to 228“, said Liliia Grynevych. Currently more than 66,000 foreign students study in Ukraine, which is almost 20% higher compared to 2011 (53,664). In particular, the minister highlighted the significant contribution of the Ukrainian State Center for International Education (Український державний центр міжнародної освіти, УДЦМО) and the dedicated web-portal, that was launched by the Center. This portal has a Guide to higher education in Ukraine, including a searchable database of Programs and Courses, Universities, information on how to apply, how to study and live in Ukraine, etc.
