Back to Ukraine: Interview with a DAAD Alumna and active UKRAINE Network Member Yana Liashko

Yana won a DAAD-scholarship and studied ‘German as a foreign language’ at the University of Leipzig in 2013-2015. She attended our Networking Event in January 2016 in Berlin, where Yuriy Didevych from the Kyiv Office of the German Society for International Cooperation (CIM/GIZ) presented the Programme for Returning Experts. The timing was perfect, since Yana was keen to go back to Ukraine and was looking for an opportunity to contribute to the field of German-Ukrainian academic cooperation. She has since joined the Centre for German Law at the T. Shevchenko University of Kyiv as project coordinator, and her application to CIM/GIZ for support as a returning expert has also been approved!
