Serhii Plokhy, Mykhailo S Hrushevs’kyi Professor of Ukrainian History and former Director of Harvard’s Ukrainian Research Institute, received an Oxford University honorary degree of Doctor of Letters at the University’s Encaenia degree ceremony on 25 June 2025. Eight exceptional individuals whose achievements have made lasting contributions to the world were recognised at Oxford University’s Encaenia – an annual ceremony at which honorary degrees are conferred and the University’s benefactors are commemorated.
