Ukraine has experienced a significant wave of emigration in recent years, estimated at between 2 and 4 million, especially to Poland. Its economic and political consequences are varied and significant. Matthias Benz (Neue Zürcher Zeitung) analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of emigration for people, businesses and politics. In his opinion, migration can set in motion also a positive socio-economic dynamics in the short to medium term. Its long-term effect depends on a number of factors, but above all on the general development path taken by Ukraine.
