The European University Institute (EUI), in cooperation with the International Visegrad Fund (IVF), has launched the call for applications for research grants supporting archival research at the Historical Archives of the European Union (HAEU) in Florence.
The programme is designed to support early-stage postgraduate researchers undertaking primary archival research related to European integration. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to conduct research using the HAEU’s extensive archival collections and to engage with the EUI’s international academic environment.
The call is open to researchers from the Czechia, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia, as well as from Western Balkan and Eastern Partnership (including Ukraine) countries.
A total of six grants will be awarded for research visits in 2026.
Deadline for applications is on 27 April 2026.
Successful applicants will receive a research grant of €5,000 to cover all expenses.
Eligibility:
- Current postgraduate students (master’s and doctoral candidates)
- Postdoctoral researchers or university teachers who have completed a master’s degree or doctorate within 10 years preceding the date the application is submitted and who currently hold an academic appointment.
