HEA Ukraine Lead supports Ukrainian Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in navigating through war-related crises and supporting post-war reconstruction. The project serves to build capacity in the management and leadership practices as well as internationalisation activities at Ukrainian HEIs and thus supports their full integration into the European Higher Education Area.
The core of the third project in the THEA Ukraine project activities is a training course, which qualifies three cohorts of 15 participants, who hold leading positions at Ukrainian HEIs (e.g. presidents, vice-presidents, deans, heads of central administrative units and similar positions).

This programme is tailored for mid- and senior-level HEI managers in roles such as presidents, vice-presidents, deans, and heads of administrative units. It also seeks to empower early-career professionals stepping into management roles within universities.
The program is coordinated by the Wandelwerk, the Center for Quality Assurance and Enhancement at FH Münster (Germany), in collaboration with Sumy State University (Ukraine). It is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) and supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
