Professor Olga Garaschuk is elected President of the German Physiology Society (DPG)

President of the German-Ukrainian Academic Society (DUAG) Prof. Olga Garaschuk has been elected President of the German Physiological Society (Deutsche Physiologische Gesellschaft , DPG) since January 1, 2025. As a member of the Executive Committee, she is primarily responsible for representing the society internally and externally. She is supported in this by the other members of the Executive Committee. According to the statutes, her term of office ends after 3 years on December 31, 2027.

As part of her scientific activities, she investigates the mechanisms underlying the function of neuronal networks in vivo and leads the Institute of Physiology at the University of Tübingen. In particular, she studies endogenous brain rhythms and investigates processes that contribute to ageing and neurodegenerative diseases.
