The founding Leadership Committee of the new British Association for the Study of Ukraine (BASU) is launching its activities in advance of its first in-person event, which will be held in the 2024-2025 academic year. To this end the formation of working groups to advance the study of Ukraine in the United Kingdom has been announced. These groups will play a pivotal role in achieving the primary objectives outlined in the BASU constitution (draft is available here):
- (a) institutionalizing and growing the study of Ukraine in the United Kingdom, and
- (b) developing and expanding an engaged and active network of scholars who study Ukraine.
All interested individuals are invited to join one of the following working groups or propose the formation of additional groups aligned with our objectives:
- Social Sciences
- Humanities
- Curriculum Development
- Early Career Researchers (Post-Docs and PhDs)
- Public Outreach and Social Responsibility
- Fund-raising and Development
If you are passionate about Ukrainian studies, please fill out the declaration of interest form to indicate your preferred working group or to propose a new one.
