Prof. Jochen Fornasier, a DUAG member, has been elected as President of the ZAKS – Zentrum für Archäologie und Kulturgeschichte des Schwarzmeerraumes e.V. (Centre for Archaeology and Cultural History of the Black Sea Region), a non-governmental not-for-profit organization, headquartered in Halle (Saale), Germany.
The ZAKS work focuses on research into the cultural history and archaeology of the Black Sea region in the broadest sense. Just as important as the field research is the scientific publication of the research results and their communication to an interested general public.
